Why there is a restriction to use google maps in ole car play?

Migrated to IPhone 8 Plus with version 11.1.2 after using andrioid for more than 8 years. When I am connecting my iPhone to my Honda using apple CarPlay I’m allowed to use only Apple maps in car dashboard. I’m not used to apple maps and turn by turn navigation is better in google maps in comparison. To end user, there should be always an option to choose which one they want and should not force to use apple maps which leave me in the mid of road most of the time . Can u please provide me an when apple will allow to use google maps in apple car play as like google play music?
