I am having difficulty installing a printer
I can't seem to install a printer I go to system preferences click on the add printer + and I have entered the printer name and number in search and nothing shows up

ok nice try. If Apple can't find the printer software for you then you'll need to install it. Best way, go to the vendors home page and look under support then type in the printer model and a software download probably will be available for which operating system you run.
