Thunderbolt Display compatible with Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C)?

Wondering if I am able to use the 2017 iMacs that use Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) connectors with a Thunderbolt Display which has Thunderbolt 2 connectors.

iMac with Retina 5K display, macOS High Sierra (10.13.2)

"In addition, it can be used to connect Thunderbolt-enabled displays — such as the Apple Thunderbolt Display and LG Thunderbolt 2 displays — to any of the Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) ports"

Hello there, I have the same question. I must bought a new 13" USBC MBP and own a Apple 27" Thunderbolt display. I see that adapter that you suggested. How do I power the display? The old mag-safe power connected to my late 2012 MPB and I was good. The new MBP doesn't have any mag safe power ports on it. Can you help?

Thank you in advance.
