Setting up new iPhone X from backup of iPhone 5s running iOS 10

Hi,

I will be getting a new iPhone X to replace the iPhone 5s that I've been using for 4.5 years. I'm still running iOS 10.3.3 on my iPhone 5s. Will I be able to set up my new iPhone X from an iTunes backup of my current iPhone 5s? Or, will I need to upgrade my 5s to iOS 11, then back it up to iTunes, then set up the iPhone X from that new backup?
