When will AppleTV 4K support Dolby Atmos digitally?
When will AppleTV 4K support Dolby Atmos digitally?
When will AppleTV 4K support Dolby Atmos digitally?
What exactly does “speculation is not permitted “ mean.....?
no one can say what Apple will do, but we can certainly speculate …
To speculate : form a theory or conjecture about a subject without firm evidence
Gents...I think here what really matters is :
"IF and WHEN Dolby ATMOS will be supported by Apple TV 4K"
(the rest will not bring any wise and added value to this forum)
That said I (and for sure not I am not alone) would love to hear a nice feedback from Apple
Thanks
Pedro
As already said no one here can answer that, any attempt would be based on speculation and is not permitted. There isn’t anything here that will provide value, the purpose is for users helping other users in resolving technical issues.
If there are features you want added then the option is to use the feedback form. Apple will not be seeing this nor respond here, you would need to contact them if you wish to speak to someone about this.
Please find something better to do with your time, the topic has already been addressed so move on. If you do choose to discuss such things then the moderators will remove them as they have already done.
Even if/when Apple supports Atmos, it does not mean that Netflix will over the Apple TV. For example, The Amazon Fire TV 4K supports Atmos, but Netflix ONLY supports Atmos when streamed through an Xbox, Slelect LG TVs, or a PC running Win10 with a specific build number or higher.
Frustrating I know. I’ve submitted feedback to Apple and I encourage everyone here to do so as well.
There are several apps out there that already offer content with Dolby Atmos. We have Netflix, Vudu and Maxdome to just name a few. Having this implemented (it's just DD+ after all) should be very easy for Apple. However, the AppleTV doesn't even use proper Passthrough of DD+ at the moment but instead decodes all audio and sends it to the AVR as PCM. I have no idea why, but that's how it is.
I seriously hope we'll get Atmos support soon though. It's been around since 2012 now, so it's not like we're talking cutting edge technology here...
You would think they would want the revenue? I am buying content on kscape, Amazon, etc just because they have 4K. UHD/HDR ATMOS content. It’s bizarre Apple would not want to loose millions over not having Atmos.
Did you send an enchancement request to Apple? If not you can use this link:
This is a user forum, no one here can answer that and speculation is not permitted.
This is what I would like to know too. Apple should enable audio passthrough so AV receivers can decode object based audio like Atmos and DTS:X.
Same question, same answer.
No you may not, I suggest you read the terms you agreed to upon signup
Yes, you can speculate, just not here, this is Apples house so its Apples rules that apply.
I did....and still waiting for a reply.
Request / Suggestion was :
- Dolby ATMOS support:
- 4K support on Youtube native APP (for the AppleTV)
Pedro
You won’t get a reply, that is just a feedback form
