I have tried about everything I've found on the internet with no luck.
Trying to remove the ringtone to see if I can resolve the issue that it doesn't work.

I tried this already and it didn't work. I was able to delete the tone from MyDevice>Tones in iTunes, but after I synced, the tone remained in my phone while it is still gone in iTunes>My Devices>Tones.

OK, if you really want to remove it from the iPhone after removing it from iTunes, you would have to restore the iPhone using iTunes.
hmm, there has to be a way to remove it without resetting
