Unintended "Safe Boot" login

My MacBook Pro "Core i7" 2.2 15" Late 2011Model No.: A1286 takes a while to boot, and when it does, at the top it says 'safe boot' in red, and it goes nowhere. After the password goes in, it goes back to the same, as if "enter" was never pushed. I've already booted into Disk Utility but nothing changed. Later found out that Caps Lock is stuck, even though it's light works independently. Activated, green light on or not activated, light off, it works as if caps were locked. Tried to boot in for NVRAM reset but it would go to disk utility and caps kept locked. Any other suggestions? Thanks

MacBook Pro (15-inch Late 2011), iOS 10, iOS 10.10.5 Yosemite
