VPN split tunneling

iOS 11.2.1 - VPN Split Tunneling

I have an iPhone and a home VPN. When I connect to my VPN, I have no problems but have noticed that the OS is doing split tunneling. It uses both the cellular network and the VPN tunnel. I can not find a setting to force all the traffic through the tunnel.

Please advise

I’m not sure what you are asking.

The phone has to use the cellular network or WiFi to connect to, send out data from the device.

IP tunneling is just wrapping your data in encryption and sending out over whatever network connection you have.

Using a VPN does not replace your ISP.

When I connect to the vpn, I want all the traffic to route through the VPN tunnel. I want the default gateway to be the VPN and not split between my cellular network and the vpn tunnel.

When connected to the VPN, I attempted to ssh to a device and the traffic was not going through the tunnel but through the unencrypted cellular network. The device is doing split tunneling or leaking traffic outside the VPN.

Hope that clarifies
