Hi there,
Please, disregard the last answer I gave you about the beta option, my bad!!!
This would be something you could if you are well experienced and have developers' knowledge! You don't want to start messing around with your system, such beta updates (that have not yet been released to the general public) are still under feedback process, and might not be up to scratch for been released, it could cause a lot of issues, system crash, applications conflicts... Better be safe and not use it!
You rather check if you have the last update 10.13.2 and if not then update it. Should you have difficulties downloading it, through the App Store updates, then download the 10.13.2. combo update!
Otherwise you can also download etrecheck and past its report herein! It is a system reporting app, it is widely used on Apple Support Communities and help to pinpoint a wide range of issues... Don't worry about pasting it on your post, it does not contain any personal information or sensitive computer's data, moreover someone might be able to look into it and pinpoint where the problem comes from, and might very well give you a way around to resolve it!
And if it still doesn't work, then do not hesitate to make an appointment at the Genius Bar in your Apple Store... these guys are real wizards and can fix almost any issues!
Sorry about that and best of luck!
