FCP X 10.4, High Sierra and APFS in perfect harmony ?

Problems with FCP X 10.3.4 and High Sierra were reported.

I assume that (barring the usual glitches with new systems) FCP X 10.4 and High Sierra should be perfectly

mated?

Which brings me to APFS . . . I would also assume that this would enhance the performance of both FCP X 10.4 and High Sierra, but how do you get it on a 2017 iMac formatted with Mac OS Extended?

Can it be done and if so, does installing High Sierra automatically upgrade the operating file system or does everything have to be erased etc.?

Final Cut Pro X, macOS Sierra (10.12.6), 27" 5K iMac, Mac mini i5 2.5GH

Forget APFS, for the time being, unless your iMac has an SSD in it (in which case just the mere installation of High Sierra will convert it to APFS automatically).

APFS is (currently) not supported in Fusion Drives, and it is really meant for SSD.

I suppose it could be used in Hard Drives, but I doubt there will be any gains from it.
