I was wondering if anyone knows the newest version of tvOS on Apple TV 1st generation.

TVOS only runs on the 4th gen and 4K models.
If you have the 1st gen (big aluminum box with hard drive) then the current firmware is as stated above.
If you have the 2nd gen (small black box) then the latest is 6.2.1
Both models are considered obsolete and no further updates are available
