Folders in application support

Hi all,

I just reformat a macbook. I suppose the macbook should be pretty clean but i noticed that in ~/Library/Application Support/ folder, there is one folder called "com.apple.xxx". xxx happens to my name abbreviation.

I am wondering if anyone knows whats the usage of this folder? How is the folder created with my name abbreviation?
