OS High Sierra - Contacts on WD external Hard Drive

I am preparing my MAC to sell. I have a OS High Sierra. Will my contacts save on my WD External HD in a read/write format and transfer to my new MAC?

MacBook Pro (13-inch Late 2011), High Sierra 10.13.1
