FaceTime does not work with certain contacts, which also have Iphone 7 and iOS 11.2.1. the same was before the update

Are those contacts able to use Facetime with other contacts but not with you?

Are you sure they face Facetime enabled?

Have you tried deleting and adding back any of those contacts?

Are you by any chance sharing an Apple ID with those people?

what do you mean by sharing Apple ID? with two different accounts we have

I meant were you using the same Apple ID as the person you couldn't FaceTime. And, apparently the answer is no.
