Final Cut Pro 10.4 Crashes
When I connect my SD cards to it, Final Cut Pro 10.4 crashes. When I try to relaunch, it opens and then closes again. What is wrong?

Try doing this on a new user account. Still crashes? If not, then you'll know it is something else in your account causing trouble.
Thanks. I'll give it a go. It even crashes as soon as I insert my SD card into the iMac's slot. Sounds like an import issue.
Can you connect an external hard drive? Does the application still crash?
So, I realized that it my canon cards that it does that too. Not the tascam card. What might it be now?
Yes, I'm noticing seemingly random crashes on my late 2017 iMac too. Crashed while I was working with captions. Luckily it had saved what I'd worked on. A bit depressing for a pro app.
Had you used feedback? What's CamTwist BTW?
Hopefully it'll settle down and crash less. I write about Final Cut Pro every month for iCreate Magazine so am pleased to see the new features in 4.
Interesting. Thanks.
Please run Etrecheck and post its report here.
The Etrecheck report seems pretty clean, no obvious problems.
Where do you see that month=13? Would love to see the report with that content.
It's in the Console, but I was told it doesn't effect the system. Perhaps that's incorrect. Haven't heard of it appearing in a crash log though.
how do you reinstall the previous version? I have a deadline and I have been out a couple of days now.
Good luck! So frustrating. I managed to copy SD card contents to an external drive then import to FCPX 10.4 from there. At least the app opens now while the card is not connected.
Have you tried restoring a previous version from Time machine? (Re previous version)
