how do i turn off fire vault while encrypting

My fire vault on my MacBook Pro has been encrypting for the last 2 days and is stuck in the same place with no progress, is there any way to turn it off while encrypting with out ruining my computer? I have a MacBook Pro mid 2012 with the latest Mac OS high Serria.

No, you'll have to wait for the FileVault (not fire vault) encryption to complete. Note, the process can take several days to complete.
