Question: apple mail software not working since latest update for high sierra

just updated to 10.13.2 and now Mail is not accepting any of my email addresses - says it is not able to verify on my server but server is fine, passwords and user names are correct and all was working great until the latest update as well as many other problems. I realize I should know better than to update when they are first available but I run my business with these emails and can't contact communicate now. Help!

MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015), macOS Sierra (10.12.6)

Hi there,


Try rebuilding Apple Mail application:

  • Go to mailbox menu
  • Select Rebuild (last item on the mailbox menu)

A rebuild very often solve a lot of issue with Apple Mail application...


It it doesn't work try to go back to account settings, deselect automatic settings and try manual settings. You might need to have handy your emails specification, such as user name, passwords, server name, IMAP or POP ports, SSL... Who knows, it might have been an update disruption on Apple Mail, 10.13.2 created some minor issues around...
