Changing carrier

Hello, I have x iPhone I bough it with the apple citizen program, my iPhone recognize att carrier which is the one I had when I did the process with apple now I am not satisfied with att and I would love to join Verizon but for some reason a guy at the store told me that my iPhone isn’t for verizon.. I would love to know what is happing.. normally iPhone are unlocked for any company..

The information is correct. The AT&T phone is GSM only while Verizon is CDMA and not compatible.

You need model A1865 to use Verizon.

You may be able to avail of the holiday return period and obtain the phone your need.

If you are able, you might get the sim free model rather than the Verizon model.
