Photos 1.0.1 not importing live photos
I have a machine on Mac OS 10.10.5 with Photos 1.0.1.
It seems that Photos 1.0.1 isn't importing live photos from the iPhone.
Is that a feature or a bug?
Can this be resolved without upgrading the OS?

Photos on Yosemite does not yet support Live Photos. You need at least El Capitan to be able to view Live Photos in Photos. And High Sierra to be able to edit Live Photos on a Mac.
When you import your photos using Image Capture, you should however be able to see the Live Photos as a pair of a video and a still frame, and be able to import the video or still frame selectively.

It's good to know how each version of Photos deals with Live Photos, I wish Apple documented that better.
Thanks for that.
I did attach the iPhone to another computer with macOS 10.12.6 and even though the iPhone showed over 400 live photos, Photos on the Mac only imported 26 of them. Another head scratcher.
