After upgrading to High Sierra, iTune (12.7.58) started not working all all. Every time I press "play" on any songs or lists of songs, iTune just quickly goes through all the album covers like being possessed. It doesn't play music at all. Should I reinstall iTune but how?

I suggest you use the program created by Etresoft, a frequent contributor. It will provide a snapshot of your system which we can analyze to possibly determine the cause of your problem. Please use copy and paste as screen shots can be hard to read. On the screen with Options, please open Options and check the bottom 2 boxes before running. Click “Share Report” button in the toolbar, select “Copy to Clipboard” and then paste into a reply. This will show what is running on your computer. No personal information is shown.
In this case I suspect you are an Apple Music user and should try signing out of the iTunes Store, and then sign in again. Your symptoms match those recently posted by others who have reported that this approach has worked.

Signing out of my iTunes account and signing back in seemed to do the trick.
Streaming to Apple TV required an access code again, so it's all very time intensive.
