I do not remember what the device security to be able to use the back up from that device to another on, it gives me the option to reset secure data. Is that deleting it all together for the device ?

Go to iCloud make sure iCloud back up is on Then backup now over your wifi.
When you charge an iphone /ipad it automatically backs up to iCloud Over your wifi
If you want to restore iPhone or up a new one set up over your wifi when it asks if you want to use iCloud backup Say yes to get your apps and data back or on new iPhone
You must use the same apple I'd

it is asking for the security password you would need for unlocking the device to be able to unlock the backup data. it gives me the option to reset the passcode on the device With that reset the device completely therefore Losing all data regardless?
