Activation required

Out of the bleu I received the msg. "Activation required" during working in a PONS App. Now, I have changed my Apple ID years ago, but iTunes expects the initial (setup) Apple ID with the related pwd, which I can't recall anymore. I have tried to go back to factory config via itunes but it requires the old ID with pwd. Any idea how I can restore my good old iphone 4S?

iPhone 4S, iOS 11.2.1

If it is because of the app, delete it and download it again using your current ID.
