Why is my iMovie not opening?

I did an regular iPhone update several weeks ago. When I tried to open my iMovie up it wouldn’t let me. I had to reinstall it and I did but lost all the movies I had done in the past. Very frustrating! Ok, but I dealt with that loss. Now it is not even opening up . I press on it and nothing comes up but a blank screen and then shuts down . Any easy way to fix this since I’m not a tech savvy person.

Your post is very confusing. Are you talking about iMovie iOS version on your phone or iMovie on your Mac? If on your Mac, have you created a Library, imported clips from your phone and created a project. Try opening iMovie holding down the command and option keys and deleting preferences in the dialog which appears. Then open your library.
