A program by mindspark called package tracer has taken over my browser toolbar and i want to uninstall it but cannot find the application software. I am using a MacBook pro laptop running OS High Sierra version 10.13.2

1. Use Malwarebytes for Mac to remove malware.

Download, install , open, and run it by clicking “Scan” button to remove adware.
Once done, quit Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for Mac.

2. Reselect your search engine, reset homepage, disable all extensions and test.

Turnoff or uninstall extensions.

I was able to get rid of the Package Tracer by just going to the Safari tab, then Preferences, then extensions. Clicked on the extension and then uninstall and it was gone!
