external microphone to iphone 7

I'd like to use my RODE VideoMic Pro with my iPhone 7 plus. If you have had luck with this, please share what adapter you used. I realize I need a TRRS to TRS adapter, but I want to be sure I get the right one. So many claim to work but it's the wrong wiring in the adapter. As we all know Apple has a different wiring convention than other TRRS devices. Thanks in advance.
