Please help i cannot figure out whats using up all my memory/ram
I have tried and did remove a few malware like files.
I am using a (Late 2012 iMac 21.5-inch)
Just upgraded to High Sierra about a week ago.

Your computer and operating system are working as they were designed to. Recent versions of Mac OS X will utilize as much RAM as it needs. The green indicator in the Memory Pressure graph shows there is no issue.

Your screen shot shows that MS Word, Safari, Finder and Activity monitor are all open, plus the hundreds of processes being run by the OS, hardly "nothing open". As stedman1 mentions your computer is working fine. You WANT to use all available resources to make your computer as fast as possible, the OS will release ram to new processes as they need it. Ram that is just sitting there doing nothing isn't doing any good. Take a look at how Activity Monitor works Use Activity Monitor on your Mac - Apple Support
why is 4-5 GB of memory used while nothing is open ?
