Song totals don't match

I have my ipod set to only use "selected" playlists. That shows 1450 songs. However on my iPod, there are1502 songs. Any ideas on how to find the stragglers without going through each song one at a time? Am I faced with a restore? I would like to maximize space because I'm just kinda picky about those kind of things. Thanks!
