Fingerprint ID stops working?

Hey all, in High Sierra and a new Macbook Pro 2017 I've setup the fingerprint ID on the Touch Bar several times, but it stops recognizing it intermittently-- sometimes it'll work for a while but then stops the next day after rebooting.

I've re-entered my print several times now, but no go.
