safari won't play video from iPhone 6s

I took a video with my iPhone 6s. It plays on my iPhone, my iPad and in FIREFOX on my Mac but won't play in Safari. In Safari I get the message that "This browser can't play this embedded video file". Bah, humbug! Is anyone working on Safari?

MacBook Pro, macOS Sierra (10.12.5)

Hi Gail,

Check your Safari settings. You may have them to where it prevents certain content or media types to not play. I do know there are many things I can play on other browsers but not Safari :/

Also, if it's a flash type of file, safari won't support it as Apple hasn't deemed flash players as safe
