I've recently purchased a new IPad Pro 10.5". I also bought a smart case. I don't like the case. I'd like one like my old iPad had, with asleep closure and protection for the back as well as the front. I've googled and researched and I'm still uncertain what is closest to what my old iPad case was. thank you.

All iPad covers/case/cover combos have the built-in magnets to put the iPad screen to sleep.
Maybe you haven’t turn ON lock/unlock by smart cover in the Settings app under Display/Brightness.
Look for 10.5 inch screen iPad Pro cases on Amazon.

My smart case does put my iPad to sleep. I wasn't sure if they all had that feature though as when you read the selling descriptions, not all indicate that.
