Hi there,
It sounds like something is continually running in the background of your device and in turn, depleting your battery significantly.
If your phone is constantly searching for a cell and/or wifi signal, this can cause battery drain quickly as well.
Look into this and see if this may help you figure out what it could be:

yeah I ended up contacting diagnostics today and they couldn't run any tests on it... it would get so far and then crash. so we wiped everything and she said to watch how the battery life goes over 24 hours... a little worrying that a new phone and they can't run diagnostics on it.. and its having issues...

Have you got Bluetooth enabled/ active?
Yes Bluetooth is on. But has been on for three weeks and never had an issue with battery until last night.
This doesn’t help. The problem is that the battery literally drops from 71% to 32% in the matter of a minute and then when plugged in straight away jumps back up to 70%....
Well, something is obviously not working correctly. I would try different charger and/or cable
I'd also call support to have diagnostics ran

Have you got the latest ios software update 11.2.1
If you still have a problem make an appointment at Apple store.

Hi Turn screen brightness down a bit go to settings turn off apps refresh.
Use low power mode when not using iPhone Then much.

yep I have upgraded the phone as soon as any upgrades on the IOS comes out....
I have reset it all with apple support online. they couldn't explain why It did what it did, but they couldn't run any tests on it either it wouldn't let them... I think my phone is faulty ...
