App icons are not displaying normally

The proper icon for most apps would suddenly disappear and turn into something like the screenshot is showing. The problem started recently after upgrading to High Sierra. It has never happened before and is pretty annoying. I would like to ask if there are any solutions to stop this from happening other than rebooting?
