Photoshop on the MAC
When I open my old photos on my MAC in iPhoto they open with my photoshop application, and sometimes new SD cards do also. How can I make photos my default app to open these items? Thx

Select one of the photos, CTRL- or RIGHT-click on the selection to open the Get Info window from the context menu. Locate the panel for setting a Default App. Use the drop-down menu to select Photos as the default. Click on the Change All button to change all photos with the same extension.

What version of the OS and of iPhoto
And exactly what are you doing? You can not "open" photos with iPhoto - iPhoto is not a photo viewer, it is a database program and can only show photos that have been imported into it -- if you import the photos (iPhoto file menu ==> import or drag them to the iPhoto icon in the Dock) then you can manage them with iPhoto
