should I use an HDMI or VGA adaptor to connect an LED monitor to my macbook Pro?

What kind of input does the LED monitor have? Does it have HDMI in? Or DVI in?
I'd only use the VGA adapter if it has a VGA in and no other inputs.
I'm assuming you'll be using the mini-displayport/thunderbolt port to plug your MacBook Pro into the monitor unless it has HDMI out or you already have a displayport/thunderbolt to DVI adapter?

Hi munkymajik,
The LED has both HDMI and VGA inputs. I will have to buy a mini display port adaptor, so was wondering which option would give the best display results. Sounds like you think I should buy an HDMI adaptor?
Many thanks,
Benita
Hi munkymajik,
Yes, it's definitely an HDMI. The MacBook Pro is an early 2011 (15"), so doesn't have an HDMI out. Just has the thunderbolt/mini display port. Looks like I should purchase an HDMI cable and HDMI adaptor for the thunderbolt/mini display port?
Thanks again,
Benita
Yeah definitely HDMI since it's a digital signal. VGA is analog.
Are you sure it's HMDI and not DVI?
What model MacBook Pro do you have? Apple menu > About This Mac
Yes that would be the preferable option, good luck!
