i was browsing on safari and got a pop up saying my iphone had a virus and exit at my own risk help needed

Is this for real , any advice welcomed.

It's a scam. Do not respond to it.

Avoid phishing emails, fake 'virus' alerts, phony support calls, and other scams - Apple Support

Just clear Safari history and cookies.
