Forgotten iCloud Password

This seems to be tricky.... my husband set up his App Store username and password with his old work Email address. We cannot remember his password, the sercurity question method is not working either and he has no way of accessing emails to that address because he did not leave his old company with a relationship in tact. So how do we work around this!? Seems impossible!!
