Format macbook pro

I want to format my macbook pro (retina display early 2013) and install High Sierra after erasing my Macintosh disk, but it doesn't support APFS, what can I do to change my file system to Mac OS Extended (journaled)?

Hi mehmeh291,

I understand that you want to erase your MacBook Pro and reinstall macOS, but you do not want to use APFS. I'm happy to provide some help for this.

When you install macOS High Sierra on the Mac volume of a solid-state drive (SSD) or other all-flash storage device, that volume is automatically converted to APFS. Fusion Drives, traditional hard disk drives (HDDs), and non-Mac volumes aren't converted.

Unless you have a solid state drive, it will not automatically use APFS. You can then follow the steps in the article below to reinstall macOS:
