11.2.1 is the worst yet. I’ve had my 6+ for a couple of years and have Never had to charge it other than when I go to bed. The battery life is so bad now that I had to buy a car charger today. My phone spends more time charging than working. Apple really messed up on this one. It better be fixed soon or I’m buying a new phone and it won’t have an “I” in front of it.

Since doing the "upgrade:" to 11.2.1 two days ago, my phone battery drains so quickly I can't make it through the day. My usage has not changed at all in the past 2 days - only the iOS software has changed. I took my phone to my local Apple Store Genius Bar tonight. They changed a few settings such as brightness and the auto lock timing. They also installed 11.2.1 again. Nothing has made any improvement. Now I have a $700 phone that is 2 years old and almost useless. What do you suggest now?

I have a 6+ and most of us with 7s or below are having the same battery drain and also a lag time. You can search the net for hours and review after review recommends not downloading 11.2.1 if you don’t have an 8 and above. Forbes trashed the download and I only wished I had read the reviews first. Most believe it is because 8’s and X’s have a newer, faster and better processor. I’m not a techie but my battery is draining as I type. I scoured the web and have tried every solution I could find, spending hours to find a fix. There is none. 11.2.1 was not designed for the older phones. No, you don’t need a new battery. It’s a canned reply from people that aren’t suffering the problem. It’s a software glitch and all any of us can do is keep posting, email Apple customer service and make them aware of what they have done to their phones and customers.

I have found the same thing. Many searches, no answers except 'replace your battery'. I have discovered that if I go into the cold weather it dies at an extraordinary rate (10-15% per minute).

When I was running IOS 10 I had no problems at all, I did not need a battery replacement. I loved the phone. Now with IOS 11 I find it very aggravating every day. Leaving it unplugged at night, it loses 30% by morning.

I leave it on "low battery mode" 100% of the time, still dies within a few hours of use.

I'm not going to jump-ship, because I have a long history of success with Apple, but this is frustrating, very frustrating.

I did read a report that shows Apple is deliberately slowing down older phones "to save the battery life and prevent over-heating". Sounds like an effort to get me to ditch my expensive phone to buy another expensive phone.

I had a new battery installed today and I’m still experiencing the battery drain. I have no choice but to upgrade considering all of electronics (iMacs, laptops, iPods, phones, even Apple TV are all connected to my cloud. I even have the iTunes music plan. I feel like Apple is holding me hostage.

Don’t drink the kool aid. A new battery won’t solve your problem.

Nothing helpful there, Hans...care to try again?

I bought an iPhone for 2 reasons:

Clean interface

Long battery life

I've gotten used to cleaning the nonsense apps off of my screen after updates, but am now finding that my phone won't hold a charge all day. I've shut down everything that I can find, disabled location services and background updates to the few apps that I use, but nothing helps. I go to bed at 100% and wake up at 84%.

If you can't fix this, I'll be shopping different brands. No sense in paying iPhone cost if there is no iPhone quality.
