My mac turns the display on by itself

After a few minutes when I turn the display off (brightness to zero), my mac starts to turn the display on by itself several times (with some interval). This happens every time when I turn the display off. This is strange, inconvenient and irritative thing. Do you know how to solve it? Thanks!

MacBook Pro with Retina display, macOS High Sierra (10.13.2), Mid 2014

Please take these troubleshooting steps, if you have not already


Go step by step and test.


Reset NVRAM/PRAM. http://support.apple.com/kb/PH18761

Reset SMC. Choose the method for “If the battery is non-removable”.

Start up in Safe Mode. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201262

Once in Safe Mode, click the “Restart” button at the bottom.
