Solution for needing PayPal verification to download app

I am not computer savvy, so hope I can explain what I did. I could not download apps and kept getting a message “before you can make purchases, Paypal must verify your account.” I went into Settings, iTunesand App stores, to Account settings. My default payment mode was PayPal. I deleted this and put in an active credit card instead as my default payment. After finishing, I attempted to download an app and it worked!! Hope this helps.
