Apps showing need to be updated but they don’t

Hello

On my iphone (iOS 10.3.3) and my ipad (iOS 8.xx) and in iTunes (12.6.2) I have apps that show they need to be updated but what I have on my devices is the latest update for them.

Right now there are 8 different apps that were last updated upto 2 years ago. BUT that is what the update shows as the 'newest' update.

I've got the latest app versions so I'm not concerned about not having them. It's just that I see the 'icon' showing an update, and I waste time going to see which app.

Looking over the forums I see that this has been a problem for quite some time. Is there a remedy to fix this bug?

A side note: I have no reason to update iTunes to anything newer. Quite content to leave it as it is. I also do not wish to update my phone or ipad to iOS 11.xx What I have is working fine. Updating to a newer iOS will result in losing some apps that the developers have not updated.

Thanks for your replies
