Jim, you should have started your own thread, this is known as thread jacking. Regardless, I'm glad your iMac is better than ever and since we've gone this far NO ANTI VIRUS. You don't need it and they are all useless or worse on a Mac. Just say no.

Maybe the OP saw something in the report like adware that guided him to a solution, unless he posts back I guess we'll never know. Regardless I need to be more aware of threadjacking.
