failed to restore from external hard drive backed up with super duper

I had backed up my early 2015 macbook pro ( OS X 10.10 Yosemite) with Super Duper (also set up as start up disk),

got new macbook pro (macOS 10.12 Sierra) , trying to Restore the backup to New macbook pro in Utility , i got error message :

Could not recognize /dev/(null)

could not validate target - no such file or directory

Operation failed...

The external hard drive been tested that it is bootable & all files accessible , does anyone know what to do to solve this error? Please help!
