I backed up my iPhone 6S plus and then did a full restore, wanting to do a restore form backup. After the phone was ready iTunes asked me for a back up password. I have attempted many and yet nothing is working. Any idea as to how I can fix this?

Ok and does it allow one to keep trying or does it lock out after so many attempts?

Secondly, If i do not remember it then do i have to set it up as a new phone and if so can I still then put all my saved contacts, calendars from the iTunes back up into the new device?

Hi Deggie,

I am not backing up to to icloud, just my iMac. So how would I manually add things like contacts , calendars etc? Is there any way of finding out what the password is? I cannot believe it only asks for it now anomy Keychain doesn't coati the password! Really a bit of flaw!
