Maybe, I can help you, claudiaprice. The headset you're speaking of is a Bluetooth Headset, and your Mac must support aptX, which, I believe, it does. So, to "hook" your HBS800 headset to your mac, go to bluetooth, make sure

the discoverable toggle is switched to "on" (green should be showing) bring the headset near to the mac, make sure it's charged up and turn it on. It should show up as a Bluetooth Device (search for New Devices) , then you can pair it with your Mac and use it. According to the User guide for this, if asked for a PIN, use "OOOO" as the code. If that doesn't, try re-pairing it:Hold

down the "Call" button and slide the power switch to "On". Hold down the Call button for 2 seconds, then release. The LED light should be solid blue. The bluetooth menu should be at the top of your Mac's screen next to the Wifi icon (the upside down triangle)

There is nothing mentioned about Windows or Mac, just Bluetooth, so in theory it should just work, but......

Maybe I can help you, claudiaprice, this headset is a Bluetooth Headset, and nothing is said about Windows or Mac, so it should just work, but.... To pair it with your mac and hook it up, make sure it's fully charged, then slide the power switch to On. Go to the Bluetooth menu on your mac and make sure that "Discoverable" is turned on (green should be showing). bring the headset within range, and it should show up as a new Device. Pair it with your mac. If asked for a PIN use 0000 (that's 4 zeroes). and it should pair and be good to use. If that does not work, try manual pairing: pRess the Call button and slide the power switch to the ON position. Hold down the Call button for about 2 seconds then let go of it. Look for a solid blue LED, then try to pair it as per the 1st part of my post. Your Bluetooth menu should be at the top of your screen next to the Wifi Icon (the upside down triangle)

Thank you for your help. I followed your instructions and a few questionable things happened. First, something called (tv)UN55ju6500 showed up at the bottom of the preference screen (bluetooth) and a button to "pair". Also when I held down the call button it rings to what I think was my last call made. I always quickly hang up as I do not know who is being called on the other end. So far none thing else has happened and I am still in a quandary. Any other suggestions?

I see- thx. As far as I know you can only pair with 1 Bluetooth thing at a time, so you’d have to go to your tv, find the Bluetooth there, your headset should show up, and then forget it/remove it /unpair it from the tv( the Bluetooth menu may be under Devices) and then re-pair it with your Mac. I don’t know exactly what make your tv is, but I’d guess based on the model number, it’s a Samsung. So press the menu button or the tools button on the Samsung’s remote control & go from there

Good luck
