Stuck on Restoring Media?
Traded in my iPhone 7 Plus for an iPhone X on 12/7/17. Before I went to the store I had an iCloud backup made at 5pm on 12/7.
Get my iPhone X home and try to restore from my iCloud backup which is 33.2 GB. It makes it all the way through and stops on "This iPhone is currently being restored and will automatically back up when it is done. Restoring media." It stays like this for 48 hours. I decided to stop it, restore the phone, and try again. The same thing happens. I go to the Apple store a few days later and the "Genius" asks if I notice anything missing, if not, hit "Stop Restoring" and move on with life. How in the world am I supposed to know if I have anything missing?! I have thousands of pictures and videos, tons of apps, texts, etc. I have a backup so I don't have to manually keep track of what exactly is on my phone at all times.
I proceed to speak 5 different senior level "Geniuses" on the help line. Every single one has a different answer. Not one of them actually work.
I decide that I'm going to stop restoring, reset the phone, and try to load the backup again. I did that on 12/11. It's now 12/16 and it is still stuck there. This phone is worthless and has basically been an expensive paper weight since 12/7. I have not moved it from the room with the router. I don't use it at all.
Does ANYONE have any idea what to do? There has got to be a way to have this normally terminate.
I understand that it varies on wifi speeds. But again, it hasn't left the room with the router and is plugged into a power source. I don't have a backup on iTunes. Only iCloud.
Please help me.
