Mac making whirring sound when waking up from sleep

After formatting my Mac, it started making a whirring sound when I wake it up from sleep, but only when it's been slept for more than an hour. The whirring sound is the same as when you turn a Mac on.

I've read that this is a normal behavior, but the thing is that before I formatted my Mac, I put it to sleep and it made no sound when I woke it up.

I don't know if this has to do whit some kind of configuration or why is it that the opening lid behavior changed after formatting. This is not the first time I have formatted my Mac but this is the first time it's been making a whirring sound when waking it up.

Can you guys help me solve this doubt?

I'm using a MacBook Pro 13 13 in mid 2012 with macOS High Sierra.
