Upgrade OS X?
Is it worthwhile to upgrade my mid-2009 15" macbook pro from Mavericks to Yosemite or El capitan?
MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.5), Mid 2009, 8 MB mem, 97G free stor.

Are there any features of the newer systems that you need? Will all of your essential third-party software be compatible or upgradeable for a newer version of OS X? If you answer No, then don't upgrade.
