How to export files H.265 video codec

I’ve updated my MacBook Pro to high sierra and also FCPX to V 10.4. I thought that the new FCPX version allowed you to export using H.265 to get smaller yet same quality video files. I don’t see H.265 as an option, however, when I try to export the file.

How do I create or access that codec. I’m pretty much a novice but would appreciate any help in decreasing my projects’ size.

Unfortunately you can't export H.265 directly from FCP. You can if you have Compressor installed, as it's a preset in that application. You can also use Compressor to make a custom H.265 preset.
