I have an Airport Extreme Base station connected to my MacBook Pro and I can't seem to find it on the Airport Utility panel. I want to re-configure my base station so it shows up in my network. I also would like to update my WiFi password.
MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013), iOS 10.1.1
Reset it to factory.. by holding in the reset button and powering on the Extreme.. keep holding in reset for around 10 sec.. the front LED must flash rapidly.. release reset and wait for the unit to come back online with default settings.
Make sure IPv6 is set to link-local only in your wireless preferences. It will not work if auto picks the wrong value.. which it seems prone to do.
No luck then we do recommend using iOS version airport utility which of late has been more reliable than the Mac version.

Which model of AirPort Extreme do you have?
Is this a new device, or has it been set up previously?
What is the make and model number of your modem?
When you say that you want to reconfigure the AirPort so that it shows up in your network, will the AirPort Extreme connect to your modem using a wired Ethernet cable connection....or....will it connect using wireless?
What operating system is your Mac running?
I think it’s the 802.11n, its 8”x8”x 1” thick. Yes it was previously set up. I upgraded to High Sierra. Then found out that Cannon doesn’t make a scanner driver for that OS. I then downgraded to the previous OS. That is when all **** broke loose. I’m piecing it back together.
